How we review

WeFixTech publishes plain-English guides to web hosting, Linux and self-hosting, mainly for readers in the UK. Robert Thomas edits the site. We don't run a test lab or a hosting company.

Hosting guides

When a hosting guide compares providers, it brings together:

  • published expert reviews, with a link and the date we read them
  • customer ratings from public sources, linked and dated
  • each provider's own UK prices, taken from the provider's site on the date shown

The guide ends with a clear verdict. The verdict is not based on who pays a commission, and it is not a claim that we have used the product ourselves.

Linux and SQL guides

These are practical explanations. Commands and SQL are checked against current documentation. For SQL Help, that means MySQL 8. They do not claim that the editors have run other people's servers for a living.

AI tools

Research and first drafts are produced with the help of AI tools, and every guide is checked and edited by a person before it's published.

Affiliate links

Some links are affiliate links, and they never decide what we recommend. A guide that contains an affiliate link says so on the page.

Corrections

If a price, a quotation or a technical step is wrong, the correction belongs on the page, and the updated date changes with it. See Contact for how to reach the editor, and About for who that is.
